Alaska Woman Gets COVID-19, Got Vaccinated, Then Gets Infected Again
An Alaska woman says she tested positive for COVID-19 after she was fully vaccinated — and after she had already contracted the virus before she got the jab.
Kim Akers, of Palmer, said she was stunned to become infected with a symptomatic case of COVID-19 for a second time, just weeks after she received the Johnson & Johnson shot in early March, the Anchorage Daily News reported.
“Just because you have had Covid or been fully vaccinated does not mean you can’t TEST POSITIVE,” she wrote on Facebook.
Now, Akers said, she’s sharing her story to warn others that they’re still at risk even if they’ve been vaccinated and contracted the virus.
The Post reported that a New Jersey man was hospitalized with the virus and a Brooklyn woman tested positive after each received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
